How to Update Free Fire Advance Server to the Latest Version

You update the Free Fire Advance Server by installing a new build from Garena’s portal when a test window opens. There is no update button inside the app. You cannot update it through the Play Store. Each OB cycle has its own build, and the old build stops working when the cycle ends.

Right now there is no update to install. The server is closed and registration is closed. We checked the portal on November 3, 2026. The OB56 window is expected in late November 2026, but that date is a leak. Garena has announced nothing. We publish the new build number within hours of release, so check back here when the window opens.

Why Each OB Cycle Needs a Fresh Build

Every OB cycle ships a new build of the test app. The build is the full app file for that cycle, and it only works while its window is open. OB55 used build 68.55.0. That build was 903 MB. The OB55 window ran August 21 to September 3, 2026, and the patch went live on September 16, 2026. Once that window closed, build 68.55.0 stopped working. It cannot open the OB56 test server. No old build can.

This catches a lot of players out. They open the old app, tap around, and wonder why nothing loads. The answer is simple. The old build is dead. You need the new build for the new cycle.

The OB56 build number is still TBA. The file size is still TBA too. We do not guess these numbers. Any site that posts a “confirmed” OB56 build number before release is making it up. Our version table carries the real number the hour it drops. Leaks also point to the OB56 patch on December 13 to 16, 2026, but Garena has announced nothing, so treat that date as a leak too.

Here is the version record we keep:

How to Update Free Fire Advance Server

Do these steps when the window opens. The order matters.

1. Check the version table first.

Open our download page and look at the version table. It shows the new build number and the file size. If the table still says TBA, the update is not out yet. Wait for the number to appear.

2. Open Garena’s portal on your phone.

Type ff-advance.ff.garena.com into your browser yourself. Do not tap links from other sites. Dozens of look alike pages copy the portal layout, and none of them is run by Garena.

3. Log in with the same account you registered with.

Use the Facebook or Google login linked to your Free Fire ID. Your code and your rewards tie to this account. If you log in with a different account, your code will not work.

4. Download the new build from the portal.

The portal shows the download only during the open window. The file is around 900 MB, so use WiFi. Keep at least 2 GB free on your phone before you start.

5. Install the new build over the old one.

You do not need to delete the old build first. Open the file and install it. The new build replaces the old one. Your main Free Fire app stays untouched. Your rank and your items stay untouched too.

6. Open the app and enter your NEW code.

The new code comes by email after selection. Your OB55 code will not work in OB56. Each code works for one account in one cycle. Copy the code from your email and paste it in. Do not type it by hand. Codes are long, and one wrong letter breaks them.

7. Verify the build number.

After install, open the app and check the build number shown in the app. Compare it with the number in our version table. If the two numbers match, you are on the latest build. If they do not match, you installed the wrong file. Delete it and start again from the portal.

That is the whole update. Seven steps, about ten minutes on a decent connection.

How to Tell You Are on the Latest Build

Two things tell you that you are current. First, the build number in the app matches the number in our version table. Second, the app opens and lets you play after you enter your code. If the app asks for a code and accepts it, you are in.

If the build number is old, or the app shows an error at the login screen, you are not on the latest build. Delete the file and download again from the portal. Do not search for a newer file on other sites. Other sites cannot give you a working build, and some files from other sites can harm your phone.

If the Update Fails

Most update failures have a simple cause. Work through this list from top to bottom.

Not enough storage. The file is around 900 MB, and your phone needs room to unpack it. Free up at least 2 GB. Delete old videos or apps you do not use. Then try again.

Weak connection. A 900 MB file on mobile data can fail halfway. Switch to WiFi and download again. A fresh download is more reliable than a broken one.

Wrong file. If you got the file from anywhere except the portal, it may be old or broken. Delete it. Download again from ff-advance.ff.garena.com only.

Install blocked. Your phone may block installs from your browser. Allow it once for this install, then turn it back off after. This is normal on Android. The permission only covers this one install.

If none of this works, delete the app from your phone and install the new build fresh from the portal. That fixes most stuck installs. The real package name is com.dts.freefireadv. If a file shows a different package, delete it.

Update Traps to Avoid

Fake update pages appear the moment a new cycle is near. Learn their tricks.

A site offers the OB56 update while the server is closed. There is no update while the window is closed. Any file offered now is fake.

A site posts a build number before release. The OB56 build number is TBA. Any number you see before release is made up.

A download button leads to a file host. The real download is on the portal. File hosts and mirror links are not the portal.

A site asks for payment. The update is free. Registration is free. The code is free. Anyone charging money is scamming you.

A site promises an iOS update. There is no iOS build. There never was one. Any “iOS Advance Server update” is fake.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I update the Advance Server through the Play Store?

No. The test build is not on the Play Store. You install each new build from Garena’s portal only.

Will my OB55 code work after I update to OB56?

No. Each code works for one account in one cycle. Your OB55 code died when the OB55 window closed. You need the new code that comes to your email after selection for OB56.

Do I need to delete the old build first?

No. You install the new build over the old one. The new build replaces it. If the install fails, delete the app and install the new build fresh from the portal.

How do I know I have the latest build?

Check the build number in the app and compare it with our version table. If the numbers match, you are current. If they do not match, you installed the wrong file.

What if the update fails?

Free up at least 2 GB of storage, switch to WiFi, and download again from the portal only. If it still fails, delete the app and install fresh from the portal. Never get the file from other sites.

Is there an update for iPhone?

No. There is no iOS build, so there is nothing to update on iPhone. Any site that claims to have an iOS update is lying.

Conclusion

Update only from the portal. Check the build number after install. Use a fresh code each cycle. That is how to update Free Fire Advance Server without falling for fakes. The OB56 build is not out yet. We will post the number within hours of release. Bookmark the download page and check back when the window opens.
